The Corso by Habitat Development Group has opened in the heart of the Maroochydore City Centre, marking an important housing addition amid the region’s growing population and housing constraints.
Comprising 158 one, two and three-bedroom apartments across two towers, The Corso is the second residential project in the Maroochydore City Centre further solidifying the precinct’s role as a residential and commercial hub for the Sunshine Coast.
Officially opened by Sunshine Coast Council Mayor Rosanna Natoli, The Corso is spread across 15 levels, offering residents a blend of quality and innovation.
The development features 1,000 square meters of commercial and retail space, a large communal area on the fourth floor with lounge and dining facilities, and a large pool with amenities.
“The Corso represents more than just architectural excellence – it demonstrates commitment to innovation and sustainability within the Maroochydore City Centre,” Mayor Natoli said.
“This development goes beyond bricks and mortar, it stands as a symbol of progress and prosperity for our city centre and our community at a time when housing supply is so desperately needed,’’ she said.
Cleighton Clark, Founder and Managing Director of Habitat Development Group which also built Maroochydore City Centre’s first residential offering Market Lane Residences, said Habitat Development Group was proud to contribute to the region’s positive prospects.
“We’ve been developing on the Sunshine Coast for 20 years and are very optimistic about the region’s future. The Sunshine Coast’s Gross Domestic Product (*GDP) is surprisingly robust, surpassing Canberra and Darwin, and matching Adelaide, which for a regional economy is very impressive,” Mr Clark said.
Amanda Yeates, CEO of SunCentral which was established to oversee delivery of Australia’s largest greenfield CBD, said at a time when housing supply was struggling to keep pace with demand, the opening of 158 new apartments in Maroochydore was a welcome addition.
“The opening of The Corso will double the number of residents in Maroochydore City Centre from 300 to about 600, activating the vicinity and bringing housing and vibrant energy to the area,” Amanda Yeates said.
